Responsibilities
Deliver expected outcomes relative to high-quality code and maintainable systems
Offer and implement innovative solutions that include engineering best practices through new tools, frameworks, and methodologies
Lead and align stakeholders with product and project goals that advance customer satisfaction as well as Fearless’ objectives, strategy, and mission
Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise
Fosters collaboration with cross-functional teams by taking the initiative and driving conversations
Coach, mentor, and develop peers that elevate team capability and technical expertise using clear and persuasive communication of engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Earn the trust of your customers and teammates by delivering world-class services
Drive accountability and delivery by ensuring project objectives are not only met on time but aligned with client priorities and Fearless standards of excellence. Anticipate risks and implement proactive solutions to keep initiatives on track
Take ownership of risk management by monitoring deliverables across the team, identifying issues early, and coaching teammates on mitigation strategies while keeping leadership informed
Shape client engagement and intelligence-gathering efforts by actively cultivating relationships with stakeholders, synthesizing insights across the client organization and partner ecosystem, and providing Fearless leaders with actionable recommendations that inform strategy and strengthen delivery outcomes
Web application development using open-source programming languages, including Python
Web-based development using open-source programming languages, including Python
JavaScript development using modern standards, including strict mode compliance, modularization techniques and tools, and frameworks and libraries (e.g., jQuery, React, Vue, Angular, D3)
Conducting backlog grooming, iteration planning, and elaboration of user stories
Defining product release plans and setting expectations for the delivery of new functionalities
Using and working in team environments that employ agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean)
Authoring developer-friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment operations)
Using version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab
Quickly researching and learning new programming tools and techniques
Ensuring Section 508 compliance
Working with relational and non-relational database systems
Utilizing scalable search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr)
Using and working with open-source solutions and communities
Developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs
Qualification
Required
Five (5) or more years of related experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
Experience using modern web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces and backend web applications, including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration
Comfort working in agile and lean environments to routinely deploy changes
Ability to work independently to build functional, secure, and accessible web applications from conception through production deployment
Experience using LLMs and other machine learning technologies to build text classifiers that label unstructured text into predefined categories, especially AWS Bedrock
Custom software development for machine learning in Python using common libraries, including Pandas
Expertise in building Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and enterprise ETL solutions, including Pentaho
Building frontend applications using TypeScript and common JavaScript frameworks, especially React, Vue, and Nuxt
Expertise in building Node.js backend applications, including REST API endpoints
Expertise in designing code integrations and queries for common SQL and NoSQL database technologies, such as Microsoft SQL Server
Familiarity with Git version control systems, particularly GitLab
Extensive knowledge of the agencies, programs, and overall organization of the U.S. federal government
