Responsibilities

Using necessary service literature, can service, perform maintenance on, and repair all commercial / industrial chillers
Performs new system start-ups and repairs on air conditioning and industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment
Low voltage temperature-control systems that are generally associated with HVAC equipment
Direct expansion constant volume, multiple circuited/compressor air conditioning equipment
Water-cooled AC units up to 100 tons
Water source heat pumps and associated equipment
Atmospheric gas fired hot water boilers
Most gas fired and electric heating systems typically found in commercial equipment up to 100 tons
Chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems and associated equipment
Computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls
Non-BAS, pneumatic, electronic, and modular DDC temperature controls generally associated with commercial HVAC equipment
Boilers with forced air burners under 200 HP
Air handling equipment typically found in larger commercial systems
Air-cooled water chillers equipped with reciprocating, scroll and screw compressors
Electronic controls incorporated with most packaged water chillers
Electronic Variable Speed Drives typically connected to VAV air handlers, pumps, towers, etc
VAV systems
Water-cooled DX water chillers equipped with reciprocating, centrifugal, scroll or screw compressors
Electro-mechanical motor starters, up to 480 volts, and associated controls
Chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems equipped with variable speed drives
Most gas fired and electric hot water/steam heating systems typically found in commercial boilers 200 HP and above
Electronic/variable speed starters
Specialty equipment providing constant temperature and humidity control
Electronic and computer controlled digital temperature controls systems typically found in commercial systems; utilize the BAS system to diagnose and repair system problems and components

Qualification

Required

3 or more years of Chiller Service and/or refrigeration within a commercial or industrial setting
Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude
Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills
Complies and promotes company Safety Policy
Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter
Excellent communication and customer services skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Professional demeanor and positive, caring attitude
Must be able to work independently and without supervision
Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 60 lbs
Proficiency in electrical and mechanical diagnostics
Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
Ability to pass a physical ability test
Ability to travel, as needed, for projects

Preferred

EPA universal certification preferred
Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, and chilled water systems is preferred
