Software Developer Section Supervisor
The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for a Software Developer Section Supervisor. This role is responsible for supervising development staff that support applications based on various technologies, including Java web applications and cloud-based platforms, while also implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising development staff that support applications based upon a variety of technologies, including Java web applications, Service Now applications, Jasper reporting tools, a cloud-based accounting platform that is .Net based, and RDBMS based upon Oracle and SQL Server as well as Snowflake data warehouse
This section relies upon Jira for day-to-day operations, and ISD has implemented the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
This position reports to the Software & Data Systems Bureau Chief
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology management, business management, computer science or information systems
4 years of work experience in one or a combination of the following: software development, web development, GIS development, database administration or related field
2 years of experience managing any combination of software and/or web developers, GIS professionals, database administrators, or data warehouse/data analytics staff
Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 8 years related experience and 2 years of supervision
Requires knowledge of a programming language such as Java, Agile Development; or knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, or ESRI technology and GIS solutions; or database platforms such as Oracle or SQL Server database environments; or web development tools and solutions
Proficient in contract, vendor, and procurement management
Knowledge of industry best practices and innovative technologies
A resume detailing your qualifications and work history
A cover letter of no more than two pages addressing your qualifications for the position
The successful candidate must pass a fingerprint background investigation as a condition of employment
