Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
Ensure timely completion of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Prepare and distribute journal entries, supporting documentation, bank reconciliations, financial reports, and budget comparison reports
Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed
Operate as a backup to other department members
Reconcile all asset and liability accounts monthly
Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules
Analyze revenue and expense transactions, ensuring accurate recording
Identify, investigate, and report on financial variations, fluctuations, and deviations
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Maintain inventory records and monitor transactions
Assist in the preparation and coordination of financial audits
Document procedures and maintain internal accounting standards
Review accounts payable, payroll, and daily sales reconciliations

Required

Associate's degree in accounting or related field
1 year of experience in accounting or other related financial support role
Combination of experience and education considered in lieu of requirements

Strong commitment to customer service
Excellent interpersonal skills
Superior written and oral communication skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
Must be detail oriented
Ability to solve problems independently and within a team environment
Possess strong computer skills with proficiency in software including Microsoft Office

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
