The Accounting Analyst II will provide accounting and finance coverage for all WM Area Finance/Accounting teams and Corporate Finance/Accounting departments, supporting various projects and assignments across Finance functions.

Responsibilities
Executes moderately complex financial tasks in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines
Performs month-end close activities for assigned areas of responsibility including preparing journal entries of low to high complexity
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and adequately document conclusions
Analyzes monthly financial results; able to communicate trends in results and provide meaningful insights into the results. Displays critical thinking skills in preparation of analyses
Collects and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports. Coordinate preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy
Assists with evaluating, documenting, and concluding on the accounting consequences of potential transactions
Participates in monthly financial review meetings
Provides guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application
Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls. Execute internal controls responsibilities timely and accurately
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (accredited)
High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years or relevant work experience
3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement)
