The Systems Development Engineer II will help improve the software development experience for AWS engineers by designing and implementing infrastructure automation and tools, while collaborating with various teams to deliver transformative solutions.

Responsibilities
Identify and prioritize high-impact problems that impede AWS software development
Decompose complex builder problems into simple, straightforward and scalable solutions
Design and implement infrastructure automation, tooling, and systems that improve operational excellence and developer agility
Build software that automates and manages infrastructure supporting AWS builder tools and services
Collaborate with AWSBA, ASBX and AWS builder teams to build and operate the designed solutions
Deliver meaningful improvements weekly while working toward long-term transformation
Qualification
Required
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Preferred
Experience with software tooling and services supporting development lifecycle at scale
Experience building large-scale AI solutions
Experience building infrastructure automation and tooling that improves operational excellence
Experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
Background in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or systems engineering
Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and deployment automation
