Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, onboarding, HR systems, and workplace support
Administer end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional first-day experiences
Maintain employee records with a high level of data integrity and confidentiality
Partner with People Operations leadership to support employee relations matters including intake documentation, issue tracking, and resolution coordination
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations with emphasis on California labor compliance
Support performance management cycles, engagement programs, and corrective action documentation
Generate and analyze HR and Talent Acquisition reports to inform workforce decisions and leadership discussions
Maintain HRIS data accuracy and participate in system audits, data clean-up efforts, and workflow enhancements
Contribute to People Operations projects that improve employee experience, efficiency, and compliance posture
Support benefits administration including open enrollment, employee education, and inquiry resolution
Assist with special HR initiatives and cross-functional programs aligned to XL Construction’s growth strategy

Required

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
6–10 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or high-growth environments
Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Preferred

PHR or SHRM-CP certification
Experience supporting multi-location or field-based workforces
Background in both HR operations and recruiting coordination
