Intelligence Analyst (INTERNAL POSTING - Existing Employees May Apply)

NEOGOV is seeking an Intelligence Analyst for the City of Orange Beach, responsible for gathering, storing, evaluating, and disseminating criminal intelligence. The role involves conducting digital forensics investigations and networking with individuals inside and outside the agency.

Responsibilities

Completes daily intelligence reports
Ensures daily statistics are gathered and disseminated as needed
Conducts digital forensics investigations by extraction and analysis
Completes intelligence requests from other divisions such as persons of interest, intelligence bulletins, external video and digital forensic requests
Performs data gathering and analysis
Coordinates and assists in preparations for intelligence operations
Compiles statistical requests from the Chief of Police or Division Commanders
Communicates and networks with individuals inside and outside the agency
Conducts threat assessments for current or upcoming events
Checks all fluid (gas, oil, water, etc.) levels of the car
Checks the outside of the car which includes the tires, tire pressure and all lights
Checks the interior of the car, back seat, radios
Reports any equipment that is faulty or shows signs of excessive wear
Maintains good public relations with citizens
Attends various intelligence and/or digital forensics classes
Reads journals and other materials to stay abreast of new trends, tactics, developments, etc
Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner
Maintains a highly professional attitude and demeanor at all times
Provides responsible, appropriate, and satisfactory leadership within the City
Communicates positively and professionally in all aspects of the position
Attends all departments meetings, City meetings, and professional development activities
Becomes thoroughly familiar with all pertinent state and national policies and comply with said policies
Complies with City wide and departmental policies, as well as state and federal laws
Ensures the positive promotion of the City
Is prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, etc
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
Possess a valid Driver's License
Willing to work overtime, non-standard hours, weekends and holidays
Willing to travel to attend schools and appear in court
Willing to comply with following standards: clean, neat uniform
Willing and able to be on call
