Responsibilities

Planning Plans daily - weekly and monthly work to be accomplished by subordinates
Establishes deadlines and priorities for the performance of Preventive Maintenance (PM's) - workload - and emergency responses based on methods - procedures - deadlines and goals
Work Direction Directs - reviews - and analyzes the work plans of subordinates
Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed throughout the Energy Plant - ensuring subordinates comply with all industry and facility guidelines
Works with leadership to establish a balanced annual maintenance/operation plan covering all equipment for the Energy Plants
Responds to emergency maintenance needs to ensure they are accomplished in a timely/appropriate manner and keeps other internal supervisors and stakeholders advised of the status of unusual or emergent situations
Administrative Duties Assigns and reviews work for the Energy Plant staff
Establishes performance standards and makes formal and informal appraisals of subordinates
Reports need for more serious correction with recommended solutions for more complex problems to supervisor
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of this position
Ability to Lead or Supervise Equipment Assembly
Ability to Install, Repair, Inspect, Instruct, Interpret Instructions, Specifications (includes blueprint reading)
Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices
Physical ability to operate power boilers, chillers, HVAC/R equipment, steam distribution systems, and chilled water distribution systems
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms in hard-to-reach places
Ability to lift items in excess of 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to frequently lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in tiring positions such as standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and prone for long periods of time
Ability to work in hazardous conditions including exposure to refrigerants, fumes, boiler bursts, steam blow back, flame blow backs, scalding water, burns, and electrical shock
Ability to work in temperature extremes, high noise levels, drafts, dampness, and water
Ability to work in an industrial environment and outdoors, exposed to the elements
Ability to encounter ladders, catwalks, confined spaces, and hazards normally encountered in the trade, including exposure to asbestos
