Institutional Compliance Examiner
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) is seeking an Institutional Compliance Examiner to join their compliance program review team. The role involves performing audits of institutions participating in student financial aid programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
Gather documents necessary for pre-examination from various departments and computer records
Assist higher-level examiners in any aspects of an audit
Analyzes student financial aid records and documentation
Audits various financial aid documents and files to verify institutional conformance to pertinent federal and state regulations
Prepare working papers to properly document examination findings
Documents findings and assesses the institution’s financial liability for non-compliance
Receive appropriate training on financial aid
Perform other duties as assigned within the department and division
Qualification
Required
Any one or any combination that equals three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
credit for college course work in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
60 semester hours or an Associate's degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
120 semester hours or a Bachelor's degree equals three (3) years (36 months)
work experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field
An additional preparation that equals one (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to that gained at the lower level of this series
A Master's Degree in accounting, business administration, and/or finance used to satisfy requirement #1 may be used in satisfying this requirement as well
Preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
General knowledge of state and federal financial aid programs, application process, and state and federal rules and regulations
Ability to travel to off-site partner locations
