Responsibilities
Performs on-site testing, maintenance and repair of all KDOT continuous electronic and electro-mechanical traffic counting and communications equipment at approximately 120 locations throughout the state
Installs permanent traffic counting equipment, detectors, and AC or solar power sources, erection of suitable equipment cases, installing telecommunication equipment, and installing and connecting recording equipment
Monitors automated data download process, manually downloading sites not auto-downloaded, and does preliminary quality and completeness checks
Cleans, repairs and services portable traffic counters and equipment used for other surveys including electronic weigh in motion equipment and electronic vehicle classification equipment
Constructs, modifies and evaluates devices for diagnosis and repair of existing equipment
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience in electronic
Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered
Valid Driver's License at time of appointment
Preferred
Ability to work outdoors
Ability to perform maintenance on automatic data collection equipment
Computer skills
Ability to work well with others
