Responsibilities

Accurate and timely scheduling of Outpatient Breast Imaging procedures. Considers preparation instructions, provider request and patient preferences when selecting location, date, and time for the appointment. Follows scheduling and insurance guidelines. Enters clear comments for tracking and communication with staff and providers. Follows reminder call procedures
Responsible for answering incoming phone calls, taking complete messages, prioritizing and redirecting calls appropriately, and timely voicemail management. Promptly responds to all mail, email and fax correspondence
Obtains complete orders and imaging as required, prior to scheduling
Provides patients with complete preparation instructions, education, directions, and check-in times. Addresses or redirects patient questions appropriately
Accurately registers patients, including explaining and obtaining patient consents and authorizations in a complete and timely manner
Follows the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for checking medical necessity and communicates relevant coverage/eligibility information to the patient
Completes daily tasks and checks upcoming appointments for accuracy and readiness
Demonstrates excellent communication skills and phone etiquette. Interacts with external and internal parties with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity
