Director of Operations
GLC Minerals is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee all operational activities at the company. The role involves ensuring safety, environmental compliance, product quality, and cost control while leading a high-performing team and achieving production targets sustainably.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with VP of Operations to develop performance goals and long-term operational plans
Contribute to quarterly strategic planning sessions and represent the company at trade association meetings
Develop and execute innovation plans and value creation initiatives to improve throughput, yield, and cost
Lead the transition to Industry 4.0 standards, including modernized automation and system integration
Create and execute strategic capital expenditure plans aligned with future growth objectives
Ensure optimal plant production and warehouse turn times for quality control and cost efficiency
Implement Lean, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance practices to maximize output and minimize costs
Maintain compliance with ISO, SF/SF standards, and environmental, health, and safety regulations
Own and monitor metrics related to plant performance, quality, safety, and environmental compliance
Accountable for managing plant operations in line with regulatory requirements and company standards
Manage costs through plant operations, procurement, labor, overtime, and capital improvements
Build and maintain CAPEX and maintenance schedules to support sustainability and growth
Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to leverage quality, cost, and priority
Build and mentor a high-performing operations team to support production needs and company initiatives
Ensure development of all plant operations staff and cascade priorities through effective management practices
Partner with HR to foster an inclusive, trusting, and productive work environment aligned with company values
Liaise with departments on raw material types, process quality, and scheduling
Work closely with Sales on new product development, troubleshooting, and customer issue resolution
Execute innovation and value creation initiatives in support of commercial objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related field
High standards of personal accountability and standards of excellence are required
Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed up by previous professional success
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including team building, holding others accountability, and safety leadership
Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Project management experience, TPM, Lean and 5S are required
Required minimum of 10 years of experience managing operations, financial accountability, managing contracts and developing staff
Preferred
MBA or master's preferred
Preference for lean manufacturing management style
