Translucent Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Implementation Engineer to join their field services team. The role involves providing expert on-site installation and upgrade services for data storage platforms to government and commercial customers. The engineer will collaborate closely with support and account teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site installation and upgrade of 1 to 5U equipment
Conduct on-site and remote software setup and upgrades
Document issues and outline next steps for customer and account teams
Provide on-site walkthroughs and educate end-users on new hardware and software functionalities
Coordinate effectively with our internal team to verify availability and schedule jobs

Required

Ability to travel multiple times per week throughout the U.S. to customer sites and data centers, including frequent travel within 200 miles of Reno/Sparks, NV
Knowledge of Linux OS
Knowledge of computer networking principles
Familiarity with server hardware
Experience working in IT
Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
High school diploma or equivalent
Location: Sparks, NV (Required)
Ability to Relocate: Sparks, NV: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Preferred

An active DoD Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is a plus, but not required
Current and/or former military experience
Experience working with government agencies
Experience as a System Administrator/System Engineer
Experience as a Storage Administrator/Storage Engineer
Data Center or 'smart hands' experience
Linux Administration certification
Data center: 1 year (Preferred)
Willingness to travel: 100% (Preferred)
