Responsibilities
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting
Ensure accuracy across revenue, returns, chargebacks, and payment processors
Manage cash flow and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee revenue recognition for DTC, marketplaces, and wholesale channels
Reconcile Shopify, payment gateways, and 3PL data
Monitor refunds, discounts, promotions, and chargebacks
Analyze KPIs such as conversion, CAC, AOV, and contribution margin
Lead inventory accounting, reserves, and obsolescence analysis
Track landed costs, freight, duties, and fulfillment expenses
Analyze gross margin by product, channel, and season
Partner with merchandising and supply chain on cost control
Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external advisors
Ensure sales tax and multi-state compliance
Own accounting and ERP systems (Apparel Magic preferred)
Improve processes to support growth and transaction volume
Support automation and reporting enhancements
Manage and develop the accounting team
Act as a strategic finance partner to leadership and operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in fashion, retail, or e-commerce
Strong understanding of DTC and online revenue streams
Deep inventory and cost accounting expertise
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CPA
Apparel Magic and Shopify experience strongly preferred
