Responsibilities

Chemical synthesis, characterization and precursor development for materials science applications
Mechanical/electrical design, development and characterization of materials
Processes for additive manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing techniques

Required

Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S

Preferred

Interest/experience in Additive Manufacturing
Interest in organic chemistry with focus on materials synthesis
Laboratory experience or coursework in chemistry, materials science, physics; electrical and mechanical engineering majors are particularly desirable
Experience with technical software for data collection and automated research, data processing, modeling, as well as digital preparation of reports/manuscripts, presentations, and posters
Mature oral and written communication skills are desired, as demonstrated by coursework or project assignments
