Staff Accountant
Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties is dedicated to making housing available and attainable for everyone. The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager with daily operations of the Finance Department, including accounts reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements.
Responsibilities
Month-end processing, including journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger account assignments
Monthly expense reconciliation, comparison to budget and follow-up coordination
Bank accounts reconciliation
Fixed Asset tracking and management & CAPEX updates
Prepare and file Personal Property tax and city and state B&O taxes
Assist in general ledger maintenance – Aptify and SAGE
Review/post scheduled transactions from Aptify to SAGE software
Support annual budgeting and audit processes as needed
Maintain procedural instructions for assigned areas of responsibility
Ad-hoc reporting and maintenance of the monthly financials template
Field and answer inquiries from members and employees, researching as needed
Generate and distribute annual unit dues letters and/or invoices
Accounts Payable support: Credit card transaction receipt collection, coding, and annotation
Report unclaimed property
Preparation of monthly financial statements
Track all relevant income and expenses to ensure PDC compliance
Prepare and file PDC reports according to schedule
Initiate and reconcile GRIP Positive Pay and maintain check follow-up spreadsheet
Prepare outstanding GRIP check letters and follow up on outstanding items
Enrollment fee invoicing and data entry and coding for Return to Work (RTW) requirements

Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in accounting plus four years of accounting or bookkeeping experience can be used to meet this requirement
Minimum four years of experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Working knowledge of GAAP
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Highly organized
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work
Highly collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the success of others but is also effective working independently
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communications skills. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box
Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and customer service skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting
SAGE 100 experience
