Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate high-performance network, storage, and server infrastructures
Assess lab and business requirements to recommend appropriate network, storage, and server specifications
Define and implement management processes to optimize infrastructure operations and performance
Lead IT procurement reviews to ensure cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure investments
Establish infrastructure utilization monitoring frameworks and define associated operational processes
Conduct technical evaluations and proof-of-concepts for network, storage, and server solutions from external vendors
Work closely with datacenter and server room operations teams to ensure efficient infrastructure management
Provide operational leadership for new datacenter/server room design, build, and upgrade initiatives
Oversee monitoring of systems and environmental controls to maintain service availability and continuity
Apply datacenter best practices to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance or availability issues
Manage datacenter and network assets, ensuring accurate tracking and operational readiness
Define, document, and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for datacenter solutions
Design, deploy, and operate scalable infrastructure across public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP
Deploy, manage, and optimize container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker
Monitor cloud resource usage and recommend cost-optimization strategies
Develop and execute operational strategies to ensure stability, availability, and performance of cloud and container environments
Partner with network, security, and operations teams to deliver integrated and secure infrastructure solutions
Contribute to enterprise infrastructure initiatives as a systems specialist and technical solution provider
Continuously monitor IT infrastructure utilization and develop optimization and improvement plans
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices across datacenter, server, storage, cloud, and container domains
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience (or equivalent practical experience)
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in datacenter, server, and storage administration
Broad expertise across infrastructure technologies, including HPE, Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, NetApp, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, Windows Server, VMware/virtualization, server clustering, Microsoft Active Directory, enterprise backup solutions, and networking protocols
Proven experience designing and supporting new datacenter construction and expansion projects
Strong knowledge of high-speed datacenter networking topologies and testing methodologies
Solid understanding of hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure architectures
Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to design and propose solutions for complex technical challenges
