Client Accounting Manager (Shared Services)

They are seeking a Client Accounting Manager to lead a team of accounting coordinators and oversee core accounting, payroll, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting functions, serving as a trusted financial advisor to clients.

Responsibilities
Oversee payroll, premium billing, vendor management, administrative checks, and year-end close in coordination with auditors and state filings
Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze budget-to-actual performance
Ensure timely state filings, statutory reports, and provide ongoing support to auditors and regulators
Forecast and manage cash flow, oversee transfers, and maintain fiduciary control of banking access
Maintain Sage accounting system, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reinsurance/premium adjustments
Review/approve administrative transactions, coordinate payroll/benefits/tax filings, and support process
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
5+ years of experience leading and managing teams
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and statutory reporting
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financials for boards and clients
Advanced proficiency in Excel
High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information
Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
Preferred
CPA and prior industry experience preferred, not required
Experience with Sage accounting systems preferred
Experience in insurance, reinsurance, risk pools, or related industries a plus
