Responsibilities

Develop and execute the company's long-term investor relations strategy in collaboration with the CFO and Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market positioning
Build and lead the Investor Relations function including tactical execution of IR initiatives
Establish the IR vision, policies, and strategic direction, determining annual investor engagement priorities, messaging frameworks, and communication initiatives that enhance company credibility
Monitor the competitive environment and gather insights to refine the company's messaging and positioning relative to peers and market trends
Research and implement new IR strategies and best practices that add measurable value to the function and enhance investor engagement
Lead development of the company's investor relations narrative that effectively communicates the company's business strategy, operational progress, and financial performance to the analyst and investor community
Direct and nurture relationships with institutional investors, hedge funds, and analysts to strengthen investor confidence, address investor concerns, and support the company's access to capital
Plan and execute proactive investor outreach strategy, including identification and coordination of investor conferences, speaking opportunities, roadshows, property tours, investor meetings, and investor events
Manage escalated investor inquiries and concerns, serving as the senior point of contact for high-level investor requests and providing guidance to team members on complex matters
Prepare and conduct executive leadership (CEO, CFO, COO) for investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and presentations to ensure effective communication and alignment of messaging
Oversee one-on-one investor check-in requests and manage post-event feedback and follow-ups to ensure timely and consistent responses
Liaise with rating agencies and regulatory bodies (SEC) on behalf of the company, ensuring timely and accurate disclosure of material information and compliance with securities regulations
Develop and deliver key messaging for all earnings and non-earnings-related events, including talking points, presentation materials, and communications for annual meetings, financial media, industry conferences, and significant investor meetings
Maintain comprehensive database of analyst, investor, and board engagements including contact management systems, analyst reports, conversation notes, and other IR materials to inform strategic decision-making and ensure consistency
Oversee the preparation and dissemination of quarterly and annual reports, earnings releases, proxy solicitations, and other regulatory filings to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with securities requirements
Lead the development of revised scripts and messaging for executive leadership use in earnings calls and investor updates (semi-annual or as required), ensuring strategic messaging, consistency, and alignment across all communications
Develop and maintain consistent, credible IR materials, including investor decks, frequently asked questions (FAQs), financial data rooms, quarterly updates, and other investor-facing documents
Analyze and synthesize financial results, monthly forecasting updates, and business performance metrics for the board and external stakeholders, supporting messaging alignment with the CFO
Partner closely with the CFO to drive execution of strategic priorities, maintain accountability, and ensure timely follow-through across finance organization and enterprise initiatives affecting investor messaging
Prepare or assist with CFO and Board of Directors materials, incorporating IR perspectives and investor feedback into board communications and strategic updates
Serve as liaison between Investor Relations and broader organizational functions (Project Finance, Corporate Development, M&A, Refinancing, Commercial) to ensure messaging consistency and investor-relevant coordination of major transactions, capital projects, and strategic initiatives
Coordinate executive communications across the Finance team and broader leadership, including preparation of state-of-the-business updates, quarterly strategy check-ins, and communications that reinforce investor narratives and strategic positioning
Support project financing initiatives for future capital projects, ensuring investor-facing communication strategies are embedded in planning and execution
Collaborate with CFO on process improvement initiatives, including automation, technology adoption, and development of investor-relevant KPI dashboards and metrics
Monitor progress toward key Finance and IR goals, including forecast accuracy, process cycle times, and operational efficiency metrics that support investor confidence
Support deal underwriting and financing initiatives from an IR perspective, assessing investor implications and communication requirements
Develop investor-facing materials for board and strategic initiatives, ensuring investor messaging reflects enterprise priorities, competitive positioning, and long-term value creation
Coordinate and contribute to company-wide cultural and operational initiatives with investor and stakeholder communication components, including integration of IR perspective into enterprise goals and narratives (e.g., Strategic Hierarchy, One Tallgrass)
Support Lakewood campus enhancement initiative and other strategic site-related communications with investor and stakeholder dimensions
Support CFO in driving execution of strategic priorities and ensure timely follow-through across the finance organization
Develop and maintain the master Finance organization calendar (close, financial reporting plan, forecast, budget, audit, joint venture deadlines, etc.) to ensure priorities are clear and visible
Track and report on Finance organization budgets, including monthly forecasting and variance analysis
Support the annual budgeting process and involvement in key monthly meetings for forecasting and annual budget planning as it relates to IR decks and strategic messaging
Help connect Finance priorities to broader enterprise and culture narratives
Partner with CFO to streamline Finance processes, integrate automation and AI tools, and develop KPI dashboards
Partner with CFO to develop 3-year finance organization strategy, including key initiatives, workforce planning and development
Provide analytical and communication support for special projects, executive requests, board inquiries, and emerging opportunities requiring IR perspective
Partner with CEO, CFO, and VP of Strategic Initiatives on ad-hoc deliverables tied to enterprise priorities and growth opportunities
Execute targeted initiatives supporting operational efficiency, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making across finance and enterprise functions
Manage and execute select company-wide goals tied to Finance or strategic initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline required
7+ years of investor relations experience, with substantial tenure in investor relations-specific roles in a public company or comparable organization preferred
3+ years of progressive responsibility including oversight of IR programs, team leadership, and strategic investor relations initiatives preferred
Background in corporate finance, capital markets, investment banking, or institutional investing is a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex analytical and communications projects
Experience working effectively with C-suite executives (CEO, CFO, CAO) and Board of Directors
Experience with investor relations technology platforms, databases, and digital communication tools
Familiarity with SEC regulations, financial reporting requirements, and investor disclosure standards
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
Established Reputation & Track Record: Demonstrated history of successfully leading an investor relations program in a public company or comparable organization with exceptional 'best in class' writing and communication skills
Strategic Mindset: Ability to develop and execute long-term IR strategies aligned with corporate objectives; forward-thinking approach to investor relations challenges and opportunities
Executive Presence: Ability to effectively represent the company at board, investor, and analyst forums; credibility and confidence in high-level stakeholder interactions
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modeling techniques, valuation methods, capital markets trends, macroeconomics, and industry dynamics; knowledge of securities disclosure requirements, SEC laws and regulations, and stock exchange rules
Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities; ability to synthesize large volumes of complex information and present in clear, concise manner for senior management, shareholders, and investor communities
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; excellent presentation skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into succinct, compelling materials for investors, analysts, and prospective investors
Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams; experience managing and mentoring professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels
