Responsibilities
Partner with project managers and project teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and audit requirements
Review revenue recognition methodologies to ensure compliance and support audit readiness
Manage full project accounting lifecycle, including project total cost tracking, accruals, and intercompany allocations
Perform detailed clean-up work, correcting legacy data, identifying discrepancies, and improving overall financial accuracy
Review and validate work completed by other team members for accuracy and completeness
Work extensively within TRX or similar manual systems, with heavy reliance on Excel for project tracking, reconciliations, and reporting
Oversee accrual-based accounting, intercompany transactions, and complex multi-entity structures
Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations, including sub-ledger and general ledger tie-outs
Perform variance analysis to identify inconsistencies and provide insights to project leadership
Act as a -heavy hitter- for reconciliation work-organizing, auditing, and standardizing processes
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in project accounting, ideally within a multi-state, multi-entity environment
Demonstrated expertise with revenue recognition principles and audit-facing documentation
Hands-on experience with accrual-based accounting, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity structures
Experience performing account reconciliations, ledger tie-outs, and variance analysis
Advanced proficiency in Excel; Comfort working in manual systems such as TRX or similar tools
Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across project and finance teams
Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing competing priorities
