Software Engineer in Test

The Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for applying QA best practices, developing automated testing capabilities, and ensuring software quality through rigorous testing methodologies.
Responsibilities
Apply and help reinforce QA best practices, testing methodologies, and tools to support continuous improvement across large-scale, mission-critical applications, including both new development and maintenance efforts
Promote the adoption and consistent use of established quality standards and testing practices through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and setting examples
Understand and apply proven QA and testing methodologies, selecting appropriate approaches based on risk, scope, and application complexity
Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, automated test scripts, and test procedures based on requirements documentation, technical specifications, and business process flows for PT applications
Participate in test plan and test case reviews to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing capabilities, including contributing to or owning portions of the overall test automation framework for key systems
Lean in to perform manual testing for new features, enhancements, and releases, ensuring thorough validation before deployment
Validate that software meets functional requirements, performance expectations, and QA quality standards
Document test execution results, defects, and recommendations, escalating risks and issues in a timely and clear manner
Monitor application behavior post-release, validating fixes and helping prevent recurrence of issues identified during pre-release testing
Assist in the triage and investigation of production issues, collaborating with engineering and support teams to identify root causes. Build automated tests to enhance coverage of the reported issue
Promote teamwork and collaboration across project teams, IT partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure shared ownership of quality
Participate in testing activities for all scheduled releases, supporting regression and release readiness efforts
Proactively identify opportunities to improve software quality, test coverage, and user experience for internal and external customers
Support and guide other QA Analysts through collaboration, test reviews, and sharing automation and testing best practices
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automation test frameworks and automated test suites using Cypress, including ownership of framework architecture, reusable utilities, and test strategy
5–7+ years of professional Quality Assurance experience supporting the development of web-based and API-driven applications, preferably within healthcare or systems-oriented environments, demonstrating strong defect analysis, risk-based testing, and release readiness support
Proven experience integrating automation frameworks with test management and defect tracking tools such as TestRail, Jira, or similar, ensuring traceability and reporting of automated test coverage
Strong experience writing and executing SQL queries for data validation, test setup, and backend verification, with the ability to integrate database validation into automated tests
Hands-on experience with performance and load testing tools, such as JMeter, including test execution, analysis, and collaboration with engineering teams on performance findings
Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps
Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter and independent contributor, taking ownership of testing efforts, identifying quality gaps, and driving improvements without heavy supervision
Experience in testing applications on Apple iOS platforms, including functional and regression testing considerations
