They are seeking a Technical Services Intern to support sustainability consulting activities and assist with energy efficiency projects while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities
Demonstrates an understanding of basic engineering concepts related to energy efficiency, building systems, heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamics or sustainability
Supports sustainability consulting activities. Includes energy and water efficiency calculations and carbon calculation standards
Supports client sustainability and energy efficiency projects
Site visits to set up data logger deployment
Data analysis, including data entry and review
Archiving and filing of completed projects
Research new HVAC and/or lighting technology options
Coordinate with McKinstry Capital for federal grants
Research rebate and rebate trends
Research savings calculations
Utilizes both manual and packaged calculations software
Qualification
Required
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel (priority), PowerPoint, Outlook, and AutoCAD required
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other regularly encountered items
College Junior standing or higher is required
Working toward a Mechanical Engineering degree, resource/energy management, or a related engineering field is required
Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September depending on school)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred
Working knowledge of SharePoint
Data analysis experience
Building system knowledge/experience and interest
Part-time availability after Summer
