Laboratory Supervisor - Point of Care Testing Program

Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Point of Care Testing service to ensure efficient and effective operations and to meet the needs of the physicians and patients using the services
Own the daily operations of the Point-of-care service, including oversight of Standard Operating Procedure development, review of Proficiency Testing, device troubleshooting, and new device development and implementation
Serve as direct supervisor for a team of technologists, providing direction and leadership. Duties include staff scheduling and assignments, timekeeping, mentoring, and performance assessment
Collaborate with and support Point of Care Testing end-users and super-users across the MSKCC enterprise
Conduct on-site visits to MSKCC regional and off-site locations where Point of Care testing is performed (Manhattan, New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester)
Provide additional oversight for Point of care testing services and compliance with training, competency, education, and regulatory documentation requirements
Perform administrative duties, including payroll approval, review of reagent and supply orders, competency tracking, and preparation for inspections and accreditations for The Joint Commission, NYSDOH, and CAP
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree clinical laboratory sciences required
6+ years of relevant experience required
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
Point of Care experience required
