Clinical Supply Director

Responsibilities

Own and define the global clinical supply strategy across all Glaukos clinical programs and product lines
Provide strategic oversight and direction for clinical supply planning, forecasting, and distribution models to support current and future studies
Develop long‑range plans to support pipeline expansion, study complexity, and geographic footprint
Partner with R&D Engineering, CMC, Manufacturing, and Clinical Operations to understand investigational product characteristics, packaging, labeling, storage, and shipping requirements
Oversee calculation of product volume requirements for all clinical trials, including retains and contingency supply
Establish and maintain processes for managing investigational product expiration, minimizing waste and expired inventory
Lead the identification, evaluation, selection, and oversight of packaging, labeling, storage, distribution, and shipping vendors
Negotiate vendor contracts and service agreements in collaboration with Legal, Procurement, and Finance
Establish performance metrics and governance structures to ensure vendor accountability, compliance, and cost efficiency
Ensure full compliance with FDA Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and applicable international clinical research standards, including ISO 14155
Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to maintain inspection readiness and compliance across all clinical supply activities
Oversee labeling strategy and compliance in collaboration with internal labeling functions
Monitor study‑level product inventory and site supply to prevent enrollment or treatment delays
Proactively identify clinical supply risks and lead mitigation planning and execution
Provide expert guidance on masked treatment, randomization processes, and IRT/EDC integration in collaboration with Biostatistics and vendors
Act as a senior leader and trusted advisor to Clinical and Development leadership
Influence decision‑making across functions without direct authority to achieve program objectives
Clearly communicate complex supply chain issues, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
Lead, mentor, and develop clinical supply chain talent, fostering accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Establish best practices, standard operating procedures, and scalable capability models to support long‑term growth

Required

12 plus years of relevant experience in clinical supply chain management, clinical operations, or related disciplines, with progressive leadership responsibility
Demonstrated leadership of global or multi-study clinical supply programs
Proven success managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing environments
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, nursing, health-related discipline, business, or technical field required

Preferred

Experience operating in fast-paced, growth-oriented organizations preferred
Advanced degree preferred
