Responsibilities

Conduct hands-on EMI, EMC, ESD, and wireless coexistence testing in accordance with IEC, CISPR, ISO, and FCC standards
Set up, execute, monitor, and document laboratory tests for electromechanical medical devices
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including antennas, signal generators, meters, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems
Perform precision hand soldering for rework and repair of extremely small electronic components (non-production)
Write clear, well-structured technical test reports documenting procedures, results, and conclusions
Support testing activities at external labs as needed
Perform destructive testing, test-to-failure activities, and product teardowns
Collaborate with engineers on failure analysis and provide feedback on potential design improvements
Verify and validate changes to existing products and support new product development testing
Follow lab safety procedures and ensure accurate recording of test data

Required

IPC-7711/7721 Specialist Certification (EPTAC or equivalent accredited organization) – required
Strong hands-on experience with precision manual soldering (micro components)
Prior experience conducting EMC/EMI/ESD testing in a laboratory environment
Ability to independently write technical test reports with minimal supervision
Background working with electrical and electronic test equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hands-on lab environment

Preferred

Experience testing to IEC 60601-1, CISPR, ISO, and FCC standards
Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, Excel, and/or LabVIEW
Experience with environmental testing (shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, electromagnetic)
Knowledge of pneumatics, PLCs, ladder logic, or microcontrollers
Additional hand-soldering or advanced micro SMT certifications
Associate Degree strongly preferred
1–2+ years of mechanical, electrical, or laboratory testing experience preferred
Engineering graduates with relevant internship or lab experience are encouraged to apply
