Litigation Secretary

LHH is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support three or more attorneys in a fast-paced insurance defense and civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive litigation support, prepare legal documents, maintain litigation calendars, and communicate with various stakeholders as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive litigation support to 3+ attorneys in insurance defense and civil litigation matters
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and subpoenas
Create and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities in compliance with court rules
Handle state and federal e-filing (including California state courts and U.S. District Courts)
Maintain and manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates
Coordinate filings, service of process, and document production
Maintain electronic and physical case files
Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors as needed
Provide general administrative and litigation support as required

Required

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a litigation secretary, preferably in insurance defense
Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and procedures
Proven experience with e-filing systems (state and federal)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including complex formatting
Experience creating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
