Investment Banking Associate
King & Sykes is a well-established investment bank with a strong presence in the Energy Transition and broader Energy & Infrastructure sectors. They are seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join their Energy Transition team, focusing on M&A, capital markets, and strategic advisory mandates. The role involves financial modeling, valuation analysis, and managing Analysts while executing transactions.
Responsibilities
Financial modeling (DCF, LBO, merger models, accretion/dilution, project-level cash flow models)
Valuation analysis and transaction structuring
Preparation of pitch books, CIMs, management presentations, and investor materials
Market, industry, and company-specific diligence across Energy Transition subsectors
Supporting execution of M&A, debt, and equity transactions from origination through close
Coordinating with senior bankers, clients, legal counsel, and third-party advisors
For Associates: managing Analysts, reviewing work product, and serving as a key execution lead on live transactions
Qualification
Required
1–3 years of investment banking experience (Energy, Power, Infrastructure, Industrials, or related sectors preferred)
Strong financial modeling and valuation skill set
Experience supporting M&A and/or capital markets transactions
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
3–5 years of investment banking experience, ideally with Energy Transition, Power, Infrastructure, or Energy coverage
Advanced financial modeling and transaction execution experience
Prior experience leading deal workstreams and mentoring junior bankers
Strong client communication and project management skills
