Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the Universe of Transactions (UoT) supporting financial statement audits
Validate completeness and accuracy of transaction populations extracted from authoritative systems
Ensure UoT data aligns with financial statement balances and audit requirements
Support auditors and internal teams with transaction populations for sampling and testing
Assist in documenting data sources, extraction logic, and assumptions used in UoT development
Support traceability of transactions from source systems through financial statements
Coordinate with system owners and functional teams to obtain accurate data extracts
Analyze data discrepancies and support resolution with stakeholders
Maintain documentation supporting system interfaces and data flows impacting the UoT
Respond to auditor inquiries related to transaction populations and data completeness
Support remediation efforts for UoT-related audit findings or observations
Assist in sustaining UoT processes across audit cycles
Maintain UoT documentation, data dictionaries, and audit support files
Support preparation of metrics, schedules, and briefings related to UoT activities
Ensure all documentation complies with FIAR guidance and Government quality standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting audit data analysis, transaction-level testing, FIAR initiatives, or DoD financial management programs
Strong understanding of audit assertions and transaction-level testing concepts
Ability to analyze and validate large data sets for completeness and accuracy
Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred
Experience working with transaction populations, audit sampling, or financial systems data
Familiarity with USSGL, audit sampling methodologies, or data analytics tools
Familiarity with DoD financial systems and data extracts
