Commercial Banking Associate
The Washington Trust Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist their Commercial and Private Banking teams. The role involves providing administrative support to Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Managers, ensuring compliance and outstanding customer service related to loan accounts.

Responsibilities
Coordinate loan closings with the assigned lending team, borrower, and outside counsel to ensure proper documentation and adherence to approval terms while providing a high level of customer service
Coordinate funding of loans and prepare onboarding package after closing for delivery to operations for the set-up of the loan on the Bank’s core system
Diligently work to obtain all outstanding documentation (original signatures, post-closing items) to ensure limited exception reporting
Input commercial loan data for CRA and HMDA data collection records
Demonstrate superior customer service skills with respectful customer interactions and follow through. Respond to customer inquiries and requests including loan payoffs, line of credit and construction advances, and loan servicing issues, in a timely and effective manner
Assist the assigned lending team in ongoing portfolio management relative to UCC renewals, waiver letters, monitoring of collateral within flood zones, real estate tax delinquencies, information gathering and late payments
Assist with monitoring and prioritizing of the loan review function
Proactively monitor the request and receipt of financial information required to be submitted by borrowers on an annual basis
Support loan officers in the scheduling of customer and center of influence calls and events
Effectively communicate with customers in a professional manner with regard to customer requests and tasks that need to be completed at the direction of the commercial banker
Being available to the Commercial Banking Managing Director for special projects from time to time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 to 4 years of experience in a commercial lending or banking environment
Strong customer service orientation
An understanding of basic accounting principles
Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
Proficient knowledge Microsoft Software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn quickly with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving
Ability to perform within critical timelines and multitask
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
Preferred
Knowledge of loan documentation and C&I loan structures
