Environmental Scientist I
The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Energy & Environment Cabinet is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Kentuckians by protecting land, air, and water resources. The Environmental Scientist I will provide entry-level assistance and technical oversight in environmental protection and resource management, including compliance evaluations and scientific data analysis.

Frequent travel/driving - typically local
Work in a field setting
Evaluate compliance with issued permits and Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act regulations
Enter fieldwork findings into the agency database
Frequent interaction with the public and regulated community
Qualification
Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a natural, biological or physical science
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 20 semester hours in a natural, biological or physical science
Preferred
Basic computer skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Drinking water or wastewater treatment experience
Methodical recordkeeping and documentation
