Responsibilities
Perform instrument exchange procedures for operative dentistry, including general dentistry, pedodontics, prosthetics, orthodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery
Prepare dental restorative and prosthetic materials
Assist in oral surgery as required
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations on infection control and sterilization
Take digital X-rays accurately and efficiently
Maintain and update electronic dental health records (EHR)
Perform daily maintenance and calibration of major dental equipment
Monitor and replenish equipment and supply inventories
Schedule appointments and assist with patient flow
Prepare requests for diagnostic testing and laboratory work
Educate patients on proper preventive dental hygiene
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all dental medical records and reports
Prepare reports and correspondence as needed
Participate in dental health information programs when requested
Pour molds and impressions as necessary
Act as triage and receptionist for incoming patient calls and appointments
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential required
Proficient with digital radiography and EHR systems
Strong understanding of OSHA infection control and sterilization standards
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented clinical environment
Preferred
Current CPR certification preferred
