ISP Telecommunications Customer Premise Technician - Level IV

The Telecom Customer Premise Technician - Level IV is responsible for performing detailed installation, integration, and testing of Customer Premise fiber systems and routers with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities
Must have mastered installation skills and testing per Telco Standards; be able to perform all the duties of the Level IV requirements with a high degree of competence and accuracy
Mastered comprehensive equipment installation skills on a wide variety of fiber system installations and performed system testing and integration
Knowledge and experience with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, etc
Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
Ability to read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation
Responsible for the accuracy of all documentation as required
Ability to interface with customers, vendors, and other company employees in the completion of, testing of, and turning up of equipment
Turn up and Integration system testing skills are required
Elevated level of understanding of all company policies and practices, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements; will review subordinate's time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
Comply with system update requirements of all company/customer installation documents
Ability to resolve any project related issues utilizing defined processes
Read, understand, and apply job/equipment specifications, installation documents, schematics, and test records; demonstrate proficiency in generating MOP’s, High-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all items meet or exceed industry and/or customer standards
Interact with all members of the organization including Installation, Engineering, Project Management
Be capable of performing the following work operations/job activities without supervision or direction:
Physically place, remove, or modify working and non-working equipment
Install Cable trays and/or racking from drawings and Engineering documents
Install Telecommunications equipment cabinets and frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls as required
Identify, label, measure, terminate and physically route the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces
Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system
Perform test and turn-up as well as other integration activities
Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise
Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work
Perform other duties as requested
Qualification

Minimum Five (5) + years' installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management
Prior leadership experiences required
High school diploma with two (2) years technical school or a combination of training and experience related to telecommunications field installations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
Must have proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications
Ability to fully understand all company/customer policies and procedures and safety requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass all pre-employment background checks; must be insurable
Must be able to comply with OSHA Standards
Travel required in your home region utilizing a company vehicle
Must be able to work a variety of shifts and travel with overnight stays, if required; expenses are 100% paid by the employer
Must be able to vertically lift 50lbs
Required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
Preferred
