Responsibilities

Coordinates and facilitates timely repairs ensuring the availability of technology related systems and office equipment
Ensures agency employees are equipped with the necessary wireless communications including cellular phones, pagers, PDA’s, etc
Makes recommendations for purchases concerning data communications and telephony systems and equipment and services
Participates in the development of communications and telephony technical standards and policies
Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts
Tests, adjusts and troubleshoots equipment
Promotes the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the agency
Participates in the development of communications and telephony requirements based on customer needs
Serves as consultant to agency employees on how to use and program communications and telephony equipment

Required

Extensive knowledge of voice and data communications analysis and design techniques, IP Telephony products and network
Advanced knowledge of PBX/Key systems, ACD, IVR and other telephone technical problems and solutions
Advanced knowledge of state procurement policies, procedures and standards
Thorough knowledge of structured cabling systems and industry standards including outside cable plant, horizontal and station cabling
Considerable knowledge of pagers, cellular phones and similar wireless devices
Extensive knowledge of all guidelines, policies and procedures related to data and voice services
Working knowledge of electrical circuits
Ability to read, understand and interpret complex manuals and blueprints
Ability to identify and resolve problems or develop creative solutions when necessary
Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
