LHH is seeking an Accounting Manager for an organization that provides essential services to a growing community in the southern part of the metroplex. The role offers broad exposure to municipal finance, budgeting, and financial reporting, with the opportunity to partner closely with senior leadership and assume oversight responsibilities across core finance functions.

Responsibilities

Oversee and review the day-to-day operations, procedures, and performance of the finance function
Supervise staff and provide guidance on complex financial questions, analyses, and issues
Develop, implement, and refine financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports for leadership and internal stakeholders
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and the annual comprehensive financial report
Support all phases of the annual budget process, including analysis, development, and monitoring
Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances
Conduct financial research and analysis related to funding strategies and debt issuance
Assist with the preparation of official statements and supporting documentation for bond offerings
Perform internal, operational, or performance audits as requested
Draft correspondence, memoranda, and policy documentation
Serve as a delegate for the department head in their absence and support special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Three to five years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role within a public-sector or comparable regulated environment
Strong working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing principles
Ability to analyze and interpret financial and statistical data with accuracy and sound judgment
Proficiency with financial systems, spreadsheets, and presentation software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines effectively

Preferred

Experience overseeing or reviewing the work of others is strongly preferred
