Senior Accountant
Confidential Companies for Finance and Accounting roles is a privately held company with a long history of growth and stability. They are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Accounting team, responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing accurate financial reports.

Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile all accounts within the general ledger, ensuring entries are accurate and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Perform account analysis to confirm the correctness of entries and balances
Support monthly and annual close processes, including recording accrual, deferral, and reclassification entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Income Statement (Profit & Loss), Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows
Assist in the analysis and explanation of variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted amounts
Ensure the timely and accurate dissemination of financial reports to management and relevant stakeholders
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise for the management of financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data
Focus on entries related to amortization, depreciation, accruals, and other adjusting entries that directly impact the final financial statements
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, verifying all bank activity against internal records
Identify and investigate discrepancies, itemizing reconciling items for resolution and accurate cash reporting in the Balance Sheet
Monitor and review A/P duties, which may include verifying invoices for payment and ensuring expenditures are coded to the correct GL account, impacting the accurate reporting of expenses on the Income Statement and liabilities on the Balance Sheet
Facilitate the A/R process by working with internal and external contacts
Assist with tracking and applying customer payments and ensuring the accurate recording of revenue and outstanding receivables
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7-10 or more years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Excel skills
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines
