Compliance Specialist

They are seeking a Compliance Specialist to assist with lease management, financial processing, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Responsible for auditing of all move-in/move-out files to ensure accuracy is maintained at all times
Processing of all move-in/move-out file audits as well as promotions reports
Communicate and post all resident related charges: rents, repairs, cleaning fees, etc
Manage resident correspondence via company email box and internal chat
Answer and assist residents with inquiries on financial obligations of lease and establishing payment plans as needed
Process military housing allowances with accuracy, including reporting
Liaison between Navy commands to coordinate moveouts related to deployments
Assist with all necessary Accounting Month End (AME) requirements as part of the month end close
Promptly report any financial discrepancies to the Operations Manager and/or Senior Property Accountant
Assist with payable processing to increase overall accounting efficiency
Collaborate with internal departments to maintain accurate property records, validate data and assist in streamlining processes. Provide fiscal support and information as needed
Prepare operational and management reports in a timely manner; analyze leases, application documents and military orders. Complete various analytical reports and special projects as needed
Assist in evaluation of operational processes identifying inefficiencies to recommend and develop systems for improvement
Work with Operations Team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as any applicable regulations and military policies and procedures
In addition to the above; provide assistance with training and execute all other duties as assigned to ensure adequate property management operations are maintained

Required

Proven Quantitative And Analytical Skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience in residential real estate/multi-family property management
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret leases, ledgers, analytical reports
Must be able to pass background investigation and drug screening
High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required
Must successfully complete all required courses, classes and training provided by MMS
Be able to work as part of a team and complete assignments independently
Demonstrate an ability to lead, support and contribute to community ideas and changes
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspaces and general fiscal management software
Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude in every aspect of work
Participate in trainings and comply with new or existing laws
Display a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times when present on community property
Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the employee handbook
Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns to avoid escalation of potential issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced and service-oriented environment
Perform duties with accuracy and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Prioritize and manage daily workload to ensure successful completion
Comprehend detailed instructions from supervisors
Exercise solution focused skills

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree
Experience working with OPS Technology, RealPage, Yardi, is a plus
Military experience and/or prior exposure to military documents/processes
Proven prioritization, Time management, and Project Management skills
