Part-time Event Coordinator
Shepherd's Center of Northern Virginia (SCNOVA) is dedicated to improving the lives of older adults through various programs and services. They are seeking a Part-Time Events Coordinator to plan and execute engaging events for older adults, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Civic & Social Organization
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate a variety of events and programs (e.g., bingo nights, lunches, social gatherings, special events, fundraisers)
Manage event logistics, including scheduling, registration, room setup, accessibility needs, materials, and refreshments
Communicate with presenters, vendors, volunteers, and partners to confirm details and expectations
Promote events through email, flyers, calendars, and social media in collaboration with staff
Greet participants and provide on-site support during events to ensure a positive experience
Track attendance, collect feedback, and assist with post-event reporting
Maintain and distribute event calendars, contact lists, and basic budgets
Support volunteers involved in event planning or execution, record volunteer hours
Ensure events are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of older adults
Qualification
Required
Experience coordinating events, programs, or activities
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfort working with older adults and diverse populations
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Computer and technology skills (email, calendars, CRM, spreadsheets)
Ability to lift light materials and assist with setup/breakdown as needed
Preferred
nonprofit, community, or senior services experience
