Staff Research Associate II
UCLA is dedicated to providing high-quality research and education in the fields of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. The Staff Research Associate II will perform molecular biology techniques, assist with mammalian-cell engineering research projects, and provide lab managerial support, including maintaining safety compliance and coordinating equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities
Perform molecular biology techniques, mammalian tissue culture, and animal (mouse) studies to assist with research projects on mammalian-cell engineering
Provide lab managerial support to place orders and update reagent and supply inventories
Maintain laboratory safety compliance
Coordinate lab equipment maintenance and repair
Qualification
Required
Minimum two years of experience with mammalian tissue culture
Experience with working with mice
Ability to perform a wide variety of standard laboratory procedures at the full operational level in molecular biology
Ability to perform a limited variety of specialized experimental procedures requiring ingenuity, resourcefulness, and adaptability to special and changing needs of research in T-cell immunology
Meticulous in following directions and observing safety procedures
Good written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to multitask
Ability to work safety and conscientiously with hazardous materials including human tissue and viruses
Active contribution to a team project, performing assigned tasks and engaging in the planning and troubleshooting of experiments
Good knowledge of the properties and safety of commonly used chemicals in a biomolecular engineering laboratory
Minimum three years of laboratory experience
Ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs
Bachelor's Degree in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology or related area and/or equivalent experience / training
