The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for coordinating the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules, ensuring accurate scheduling of appointments and procedures to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care
Verifies insurance benefits
Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required
Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments
Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings
Maintains, coordinates and manipulates provider clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacation, court appearance, attorney depositions and all other meetings for the provider, using both Epic and MS Outlook programs
