Responsibilities
Posts room charges and taxes to guest’s accounts
Processes guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers
Post charges to the guest accounts that have not been posted or were incurred on the night audit shift
Verify all account postings and balances
Verify that room rates are correct and posts those rates to guest accounts
Understand principles of auditing, balancing, and losing out accounts
Balance the day’s charges, making corrections as necessary
Run end of day process in property management software (PMS)
Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities
Summarizes results of operations for management
Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, and record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information
Serve as a front desk agent especially in terms of check-in and check-out procedures
Respond to guest needs, special requests and complaints and alert the appropriate manager as needed
Maintain complete knowledge of emergency procedures
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English
Detail-oriented and thorough
Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly manner
Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of hospitality operations
Basic Accounting skills and ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
Skilled at resolving challenges efficiently and effectively
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
Ability to stand and move throughout front office and lobby while continuously performing essential job functions
Ability to lift to 25 lbs
Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, and walking
Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
Primarily located indoors but can be exposed to outside weather conditions
Occasionally exposed to high volume places
Minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with hotel environment
May be exposed to cleaning chemicals (proper PPE provided)
Shift work is required, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
