Associate Analyst, Data Privacy and AI Governance

The Associate Analyst, Data Privacy & AI Governance will support the development and execution of Carvana’s Privacy and Governance program, focusing on data inventory, audits, and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular audits of data processes and workflows across platforms and systems to identify and address gaps in data governance and privacy compliance
Document data flows, architectures, uses, and processes, as well as mitigations and residual risks, making information accessible and understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Drive data lifecycle initiatives, specifically minimization and retention practices, to reduce legal liability without compromising data-driven business insights
Support the automation of data categorization and tagging, report false positives to our vendor, and ensure that data is accessible to our stakeholders and leveraged in Data Inventory and Mapping, and Privacy Impact Assessments
Validate information accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and document workflows
Support the automation and maintenance of workflows within our Privacy Tools to support consumer privacy request responses and Cookie/Pixel management
Monitor SLAs and support operational efficiencies
Support stakeholder audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviews
Maintain SOPs, playbooks, and related technical documentation
Other job-related duties as assigned

Required

Familiar with core principles of Data Privacy and Governance
Familiar with data warehousing and analytics platforms
Familiar with structured and unstructured databases across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
Experience with Data Privacy and Governance tools
Knowledge of privacy-related technologies (cookies, pixels, etc.)
Experience with process improvement
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred

Privacy credentials and certifications, such as a CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM
Project management experience
Auditing experience
