Propulsion HIL Systems and Hardware Engineer

Stellantis is seeking a Propulsion HIL Systems & Hardware Engineer for their Propulsion System HIL team to work on Hardware-In-the-Loop simulators. The role involves interfacing with cross-functional teams to set up HIL simulators for vehicle configurations and troubleshoot integration issues, while also evaluating new HIL technologies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

Conducting benchmarks and evaluating new HIL technologies
Collaborating with teams for HIL requirements and impact analysis
Interface with cross-functional team of ECU Hardware, Systems, SW, Controls, Plant Modeling and Calibration engineers
Rapidly setup the HIL simulator for specified vehicle configuration
Resolve HIL simulation environment and/or integration issues, triage, troubleshooting during commissioning of HIL test properties

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical/electronics, hardware, software or controls
Knowledge and experience with ICE, Transmission, Vehicle Dynamics, EE, electric and hybrid Systems
Demonstrated Hardware- In-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems)
Hands on experience with the dSpace Simulators (Scalexio), Harness design, implementation, Electrical Loads etc
Experience with HIL electrical/ wiring harness, load box design, implementation and troubleshooting
Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
Knowledge of CAN stack, SPI, LIN and Flash bootloader integration
Knowledge in diagnostic management: CANalyzer, CANoe
Knowledge of Simulation Tool (e.g. CarMaker, ASM)
Knowledge/experience with UDS, XCP protocol
Familiarity using trace capture tools, data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS - INCA
Experience with HIL testing, vehicle integration and validation
Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to speak with individuals at all levels in the organization
Experience working cross-functionally

Preferred

Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 years of working experience of MIL/SIL/xIL Development & testing & delivery of test properties
Detailed knowledge about ICE, Hybrid and BEV applications
Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and specific simulation software
Good working experience with dSpace Simulators, Hardware design and implementation
Experience of working within an AGILE or Scrum framework
Experience in Test Automation
Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity
Understanding of the development of embedded software
