Accounting Manager

LHH is partnering with a confidential client to hire an Accounting Manager who will take full ownership of revenue accounting, gross margin analysis, and financial reporting while leading the Accounts Receivable function. The role involves managing month-end close, overseeing AR operations, and driving process improvements within the Accounting & Finance department.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team responsible for revenue accounting and AR operations
Manage the end‑to‑end AR cycle: invoicing, system entry, collections, reconciliation, and reporting
Own revenue month‑end close, financial reporting, and accuracy of all revenue‑related financial statements
Perform revenue and gross margin analysis; identify trends and explain variances
Prepare reconciliations and detailed analysis of assigned balance sheet accounts
Ensure reimbursable expenses are invoiced correctly and in alignment with client contracts
Work closely with internal partners to understand operational drivers behind financial results
Support tax filings, including sales/use, gross receipts, and unclaimed property
Prepare revenue apportionment schedules for state tax filings
Assist with audits and ensure GAAP compliance across all assigned areas
Drive standardization, efficiency, and process improvement across accounting workflows
Provide ad‑hoc reporting and project support to senior leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
5+ years progressive accounting experience, including 1+ year of management
Experience with revenue accounting, AR processes, and financial reporting
Strong analytical capabilities — able to explain •why• variances occur (not just report them)
Advanced Excel skills; experience with MS Dynamics preferred
Understanding of GAAP and application in day‑to‑day accounting
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Strong communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail
Self‑starter with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines independently
