Product Manager – ClaimGuard: Fraud Detection System

They are seeking a bilingual Product Manager to lead the development of a fraud detection system, working closely with customers and internal teams to define product requirements and ensure successful adoption.

Responsibilities
Act as the primary product influencer for the fraud detection system
Meet with insurance clients and other stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and feedback
Translate customer needs into clear, actionable Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and user stories
Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and UX teams to productize ML and AI-based features
Drive end-to-end project delivery including scope definition, timeline management, and stakeholder communication
Continuously improve the product based on market insights, customer feedback, and performance metrics
Support customer onboarding, demonstrations, and pilot implementations as needed
Manage feature development across core ML/AI models and supporting detection systems, including OCR & image processing, link analysis, document comparison, and metadata analysis
Join discovery calls to evaluate customer data fit, propose ingestion/mapping plans, and design pilot scaffolding. Explain gradient-boosted model behavior to non-technical stakeholders and lead POCs/pilots with clear success metrics
Acts as the bridge among customers, product consultants, and engineering, producing crisp artifacts from ambiguous inputs. Comfortable running bilingual workshops and maintaining clear docs/tickets
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in product management, preferably in insurtech, AI/ML, or enterprise software
Strong understanding of fraud detection systems, machine learning concepts, and/or rule-based engines
Proven experience in writing BRDs and managing cross-functional software development projects
Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency
Located in Tokyo, with flexibility to visit customer sites frequently
Proficiency in data manipulation and management (e.g., Python, SQL) to extract insights, analyze trends, and address customer inquiries efficiently
Understanding of data privacy regulations (APPI, GDPR) and their implications for insurance data and AI use
Experience working with insurance carriers or within the insurance industry
Technical fluency to understand and explain machine learning and AI features
Background in data analysis, UX/UI collaboration, or agile project management
Experiencing delivering approved solution designs and launching 1–2 KPI-driven pilots
