General Laborer – PCI Des Moines

The General Laborer role involves assisting with various construction tasks, ensuring safety and cleanliness on the job site, and supporting carpenters and other tradespeople.

Responsibilities
Assists carpenters by holding and securing lumber used in build process; ensures lumber is level or plumb during installation
Assists with building forms for pouring concrete
Prepares work area by transporting needed tools and equipment from storage facility
Loads and unloads building materials to be used on construction projects
Builds and disassembles scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures used on construction sites
Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe
Digs trenches and holes needed in construction projects
Keep machines serviced
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters
Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures
On-the-job training offered
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to perform basic math
Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
Physically able to perform assigned tasks
Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
