SATCOM Engineer - Senior

Responsibilities
Serves as a lead SATCOM engineering expert within the PMO, driving the management of enterprise-level and site-specific SATCOM capability/capacity projects and holding significant responsibility for the technical integrity of their associated Project Requirements Documents (PRDs)
Leads the identification and definition of technical, architectural, and systematic paths for complex SATCOM integration activities, major expansions, and critical site activations, directly influencing the scope and requirements of PRDs, contributing to development of Approved Product Lists and Market Research Reports
Architects and evaluates strategic SATCOM solutions, providing expert technical advice to Government leadership POCs on optimizing SATCOM capabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring long-term operational effectiveness, as captured in PRDs
Develops and presents high-level technical and architectural roadmaps for SATCOM systems, influencing PMO decisions on technology adoption, resource allocation, and program direction, and ensuring PRDs reflect these strategic choices
Directs and coordinates cross-functional teams to integrate SATCOM technical considerations into broader C2ISR projects, resolving complex architectural and technical challenges, and ensuring PRD alignment and feasibility
Functions as a technical expert across multiple high-impact SATCOM assignments, guiding junior and journeyman engineers, and contributing significantly to the strategic expansion and modernization of global C2ISR SATCOM infrastructure through the PRD process
Qualification
Required
Previous experience as a SATCOM Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
Minimum of 8 years' experience with a BS/BA degree or 6 years' experience with a MS/MA or 3 years' experience with a Ph.D. OR 12 years without a degree OR 10 years with AS/AA
A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
US citizenship is required
DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 441 Network Operations Specialist, Intermediate Level / ability to obtain
Preferred
Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment
