They are seeking a Cloud Solution Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support CRM's transition to a hybrid, multi-cloud operating model, providing technical leadership across various cloud services and ensuring compliance with federal standards.

Responsibilities
Design and implement cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and OCI integrated with on-prem CRM infrastructure
Define reference architectures and design patterns for development, test, and production workloads
Ensure cloud designs align with DOJ security, compliance, and audit requirements
Architect cloud compute platforms supporting in-house developed and Linux-based COTS applications
Define OS standards, hardening baselines, lifecycle management, and patching approaches
Support lift-and-shift and re-platforming strategies
Assist in the design of object, block, file, and archive storage solutions
Assist in defining lifecycle, tiering, retention, and archival policies aligned with DOJ and NARA requirements
Assist in the integration of cloud storage with on-prem data platforms where required
Design secure cloud networking constructs (VNets, VPCs, VCNs, subnets, routing, security controls)
Implement hybrid connectivity between cloud platforms and on-prem environments
Coordinate with DOJ JMD for enterprise network integration
Implement cloud IAM using least-privilege and separation-of-duties principles
Integrate cloud identity with DOJ authentication services
Ensure encryption, logging, monitoring, and auditability meet federal standards
Design cloud-based DR architectures supporting CRM BCP/DR objectives
Define and validate RTO/RPO targets
Support periodic DR testing and recovery validation
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and cloud-native tooling
Automate provisioning, compliance checks, and OS patching
Reduce manual operations through repeatable workflows
Establish tagging, cost-management, and budget-control frameworks
Provide dashboards and reporting for usage, performance, and cost
Support audits and leadership reporting
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
This position requires working onsite in Washington D.C., 5 days per week
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
10+ years of enterprise infrastructure or cloud engineering experience
Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud solutions across at least two major platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI)
Strong Linux and Windows enterprise workload experience
Experience operating in regulated federal environments
Cloud compute services (Azure, AWS, OCI)
Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
Object, block, file, and archive storage services
Cloud IAM, logging, monitoring, and security services
Linux, Windows OS hardening and patch automation
Required Certifications (minimum of one required): Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), OCI Certified Architect (Associate or Professional)
Preferred
Experience supporting DOJ or other federal customers
Familiarity with JMD-managed enterprise services
Knowledge of FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 controls
Experience supporting application migrations to cloud platforms
Strong documentation and architecture governance discipline
Preferred Certifications: Terraform Associate, CCSP or equivalent cloud security certification, Security+ CE or SSCP, ITIL
