Responsibilities

The Peer Specialist is responsible for assisting and supporting individuals in a mobile crisis in our Mobile Response Program
The Peer specialist will engage in a range of activities to support individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse disorder, mental illness, or both
Activities may include mentoring, advocating for people in recovery, and building relationships
The Crestwood Behavioral Health Mobile Response Team (MRT) provides community-based interventions for those experiencing a mental health crisis
Our team is available to deploy into the community to provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization
The goal of MRT is to de-escalate the crisis and safely connect individuals with mental health care and resources

Qualification

Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support SpecialistHigh School DiplomaGED80-hour Peer Support LearningDBTWRAPPsychosocial RehabilitationValid CA Driver’s License

Required

Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist certification or the ability to obtain it within an agreed upon time frame
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
80-hour Peer Support Learning or equivalent - successfully completed within 90 days of hire or has taken the training within 2-years of hire
Valid CA Driver's License

Preferred

Knowledge of DBT, WRAP and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Principles
