Administrative Assistant HH/Hospice

Responsibilities

Answers phone promptly, courteously, and professionally, screens and transfers calls to appropriate personnel, and relays messages to staff as needed
Ensures timely processing, tracking, and logging of Plans of Treatment, Face to Face documents, Physicians orders, and other documentation requiring signatures
Monitors incoming faxes and distributes them to appropriate personnel, and faxes documents to physicians and other providers for field staff as requested
Calls laboratory to request patient lab reports for field staff as requested
Maintains a tidy and organized work environment
Participates in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate to departmental needs
Completes related tasks as assigned by Department Manager or Department Director
Manages timekeeping for department to include submitting bonus and travel expenses
Performs other duties as assigned
Runs various reports to monitor outstanding Plans of Treatment and orders daily, ensuring all items are followed up on, obtained back signed, checked in, and scanned to EMR promptly
Processes all discharge and transfer summaries daily
Provides medical records upon request to MD office or sends chart requests to CIOX for processing
Demonstrates computer skills and knowledge and maintenance of office equipment
Maintains and orders medical and office supplies monthly and as needed, rotating stock to prevent waste

Required

Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements
Knowledge of basic to intermediate application of Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as internet software
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to display professional interactions with all levels of internal and external customers
Effectively able to problem solve in complex situations
Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Ability to complete AdventHealth Home Care Orientation and Training, as necessary
High School Grad or Equiv
Medical background minimum 2 years experience
